Union Made Products
Updated
On: Jul 16, 2010 (10:43:00)
Thinking about buying a new vehicle and you want to buy a Union Made one? Bet you didn't know these 2010 vehicles are Union Made: Mitsubishi Galant, Mitsubishi Endeavor, Mazda B-Series pick-up, Mazda Tribute/ Hybrid, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Tacoma pick-up and VW Routan. How about Danner Boots, NordicTrack exercise equipment and Stanley Tools. Yep, all Union Made. For more information on Union Made products you can click here: http://www.massaflcio.org/buy-union-made But wait there's more! Start your day with some Quaker Oats products or pancakes topped with Aunt Jemima syrup. How about a Slim Jim snack, Yoplait or Dannon yogurt or Breyers Ice Cream? Maybe a Minute Maid or V8 beverage. End the day with some Seagrams or Jim Beam. Well if you do any of this you have supported your Union Brothers and Sisters. For more information on Union Made food, drink, condiments and household items go to: http://www.ufcw.org/about_ufcw/ufcw_made_products/index.cfm There are literally hundreds of items. Many of which you probably already use but didn't know they are Union Made.

Volunteers Needed! Call Byron at 253-565-3232 or e-mail at byron@ibew483.org if you can volunteer some time to help during the upcoming election. The only way we can fight big business and big money is with our boots on the ground! Go to: www.stopgreed.org to get the facts about who is financing and stands to benefit from the ballot initiatives! The November 2, 2010 General Election will be very important on two fronts: - The election of federal, state and local candidates that will work to improve conditions for working men and women.
- Ballot referendums and initiatives that will have a significant impact on our members.
To view the list of local, state and initiative endorsements please click on the download at the bottom of this article. To get more information on what corporations are behind these initiatives go to: www.stopgreed.org Remember to check your voter registration status. If you : - Moved since the last election
- Changed your name since the last election
- Become a resident of Washington state since the last election
- Did not receive a ballot in the last election

Support UFCW Local 367
Updated
On: Jul 13, 2010 (11:09:00)
MACY'S NEGOTIATIONS NOT GOING WELL UFCW Local 367 requests that you e-mail the following message out to your friends, family and co-workers: UFCW Local 367 has been negotiating with Tacoma Macy's for 6 months. The proposal that Macy's has brought to the table, among other devastating things, will take $750,000 out of the local economy each year by ending commissions and paying minimum wage. In hard numbers that's $2,250,000 over the life of the 3-year contract. Macy's wants to take millions of dollars out of the community and greedily shove it in their own pockets. Please DO NOT SHOP Tacoma Macy's until they agree to a fair contract for ALL workers. Please send this e-mail message to all of your e-mail contacts, put it on your Facebook page or other social networking site, and get the word out that Tacoma Macy's doesn't care what kind of neighbor it is. In Solidarity, Teresa Iverson, President, UFCW Local 367 Blaine Sherfinski, Secy.-Treas., UFCW Local 367
